Volunteer

It Takes a Village. Make a Meaningful Impact in a Villager’s Life! Whether you wish to volunteer on your own, with your family and friends, or as part of an organization or company, we invite you to join us in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of individuals with IDD.

An application and annual background check must be completed prior to volunteering in one of our facilities. Background checks must be updated every year.

Download the Required Volunteer Forms. We must have a signed form for each volunteer. You may return your completed and signed forms along with a copy of your Driver’s License (for each volunteer) to volunteers@thevillagecenters.org or The Village Admin (located inside Joslin), 2218 Northpark Dr., Suite 210, Kingwood, TX 77339.

Once your signed forms (for each volunteer) and copy of your drivers license (for each volunteer if applicable) has been sent to volunteers@thevillagecenters.org, please proceed to step 2, complete and submit the Volunteer Online Application _ a separate form must be completed for each individual volunteer. Please note we can not have anyone volunteering at any of our locations until both steps are completed. Thank you for your desire to volunteer at The Village Centers or The Village Thrift Shop.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Village Thrift Shop

The Village Thrift Shop is a great place to volunteer and is always looking for help. The Thrift Shop is donations-based so the proceeds go back to The Village Centers. You can help clean and organize the store, collect and sort donations, or assist customers. Volunteer shifts are available every day of the week during regular store hours. Please visit The Village Thrift Shop page (link) for more information about store hours and location.

Classroom and Community Outing Helper

Volunteer with our Villagers in the classroom to help support them and increase their circle of friends! The Kyle Brusatori Multipurpose Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and you are welcome to volunteer any time during the day. As a classroom helper, you will assist Villagers with activities such as reading, math, hand-over-hand learning, cooking lessons, and playing bingo and other games.

We also need volunteers to accompany our Villagers on community outings as an extra pair of eyes and ears. Outings may include bowling, area attractions such animal or amusement parks, the movies, restaurants, and more. All volunteers are supervised and supported by a staff member.

The Kyle Brusatori Multipurpose Center

There are numerous opportunities at The Village Centers Day Programs to make a difference. We need volunteers to help deep clean on a semi-annual basis, wash and detail our 10 vehicles, wash windows, pressure wash, paint, and the list goes on! Volunteer sessions for projects such as these are available to be completed throughout the week. Everything we can get a volunteer to assist with versus paying for it means more money goes back into our programs to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
